Just interested in how "ones" membership is upgraded from new, to member, to senior?
25 (?) Member
1000 Senior Member
3000 Veteran Member
Moderator, Retailer and Manufacturer are post irrelevant and for info purposes.
I see i'm not new now... 25 must be!
How does "one" become a moderator? Do you have to work for the forum owners?
You have to be a member for one whole week without upsetting anyone
How come we have any Mods left
Oh, and you have to be able to spot when you left caps-lock on
Its some members that upset the mods not the other way
I cheated and went on holiday for a week
I often wondered about the insertion of another grading level at say 500 posts. These people could be "Experienced Members" or something. It often seems like a very long time between 26 and 1000 posts .
How do you get from "Moderator" to "Senior Moderator". Is that a post count thing too?
Who has the most postson the board? , he asked as he tried to rack up a measly 25
Has to be the dragon:
I feel so ....... inadequate !
Only another 13,567 to go until you catch him.
I think the Junior -> Member transition is at 30.
I'm surprised that Stuart hasn't implemented a further status for the likes of HD who are head and shoulders above the 3000 post count since he could enter it manually.
When I originally joined the forums we were allowed to enter our own label so I was an EvilMember.
i had some good member tags as a rule that was a while back pity as being the only none retailer/moderator in the top five posts (was top 10 but Rasczak has been doing stirling work)i do feel veteran is somewhat inadaquate i think i do now have the highest post count ever od did the bushy tailed one make 20k?????????
i feel an average of 10 posts a day is suitable number to make.............(best make it 11 today hadnt i)
And if you want to polish your post count try and buy a black DVD recorder...............(or VCR or VCR/DVDR or PVR in black)
The bushy tailed one used to do 1000 per week if I'm not mistaken, 99% of which weren't necessary
Who's the bushy tailed one...are they part of AVforum folklore? A prodigious poster of posts who no longer exists - a story told to young AVforumites who think they could become the top poster ever?
i saw the bushy tailed one the other day on another board - why did he leave - was there blood on the dance floor?
the truth is out there..
Couldn't it be changed from "Member"?
It makes us sound like a bunch of D C S.
It's odd that this preoccupation with post counts and status only seems to be amongst the denizens of General Chat as others don't seem to be that bothered.
If you look at the "Member List" and click on "posts" it will sort the members into descending order according to post count ( link here. It has oft been my view that those with high post counts either don't work hard enough or don't get out enough and my own position as the second highest poster has long been a source of embarrassment to me.
In my defence I freely admit that I don't work very hard
As well as the post count list which Ian has just linked to there is also a trader summary here for those who are interested.
