Just bought "Meet the parents" at Woolies for £12.99

On the back of the packaging it says:

    "Bonus Material
    Behind the Scenes
Commentary 1:Director Jay Roach, Editor Jon Poll
Commentary 2:Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller,
Director Jay Roach, Producer Jane Rosenthal
    Deleted Scenes
    Outakes
    2 Theatrical trailers"

None of the above appear to be on the disc or, if they are, they are very well hidden.

Does anyone have this disc (Region 2/4) and do you know if the extras are on the disc and, if so, how to access them?

    Thanks in advance.

I have the region 1, but I nearly missed the extras because the main menu has 3 or 4 pages.

Look in the bottom right of the main menu screen and you should see an arrow/triangle. Highlight and press this and you should get the next page etc;)

Thanks for the quick reply mcmullanbrush.

I've looked everywhere on the menu screens (There only seem to be two on the region 2 disc) but I cannot find any arrow/triangle symbols to click on.

Could it be they stuffed up with the region 2 disc?

I have the Region 4 (it's not hard to see which region I have, you just have to click on my DVD link :grin)... It says it is dual encoded for R2 as well so it should be the same as yours.

On main menu select BONUS FEATURES (see picture)

..... select which special features you want, including the commentaries (see picture again) :)

If they're really not there on yours, take it back to Woolies, get a refund and buy the same R4 that I did from EzyDVD for considerably less than you paid for it (a little over £8 delivered): ;)

    http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/2431/id=LjUnd:f3tYD

The R4 has the same features as the R1 apart from the DVD-ROM content (which isn't much to write home about anyway ;))

    Thanks Squirrel God,

My disc is Region 2,4 and the bonus material is not shown on the menu. Honest.....Look:

So I guess it's a trip back to Woolies for me then.

    Deffo!

It's supposed to be there on the R2 though - that's the weird thing.... Not just because it says so on the back but look here too: http://www.dvdcompare.org.uk/comparisons/film_results_page.php?fid=821

Anyway, you'll save a few bob if you get a refund and order it from EzyDVD :D

Well it looks as though Woolies have sold me a dodgy disc

On further examination I have found that the Packaging has the following number on it:

    688 215 2

and the Disc has this number:

    688 205 2

I wonder if that's anything to do with the problem?

Sounds like Kev's hit the nail on the head here.

Problem with Woolies is that most stores separate the disks from the cases and it's down to the intelligence of the yokel behind the counter as to whether you get the right disk or not (no offence to anyone who works in Woolworths :D)

    UPDATE:

I returned the disc to Woolies this morning and they didn't have any other copies in stock so I got a refund.

Being an impaitient kind of guy I then went to Our Price and checked out their copy.

The packaging was identical to the Woolies one and had the same number:688 215 2

and the disc had the correct number:688 215 2

so I took the plunge and bought it for the extortionate price of £19.99 (I couldn't wait for mail order - I told you I was impaitient  )

This disc does contain the Bonus Material. :)

So the moral of this tale is:

If you are buying Meet The Parents (Region 2,4)
Check that the disc has the same number as the packaging.

Thanks again for all your help guys.

It's a funny film but not at that price. Well if it floats your boat and you want it badly enough.
