I have ordered a set of these for £32 delivered from Special Reserve, but have been informed that the cable is only 2m long. Is there an official name for the small circular 9-pin connection that the headphones / amp box use ?

I am trying to find out if I an get hold of a 3 or 4 metre extension.

Not to worry, just spoke to Speed-Link's technical HQ in Germany, and apparently the 9-pin connection is unique to the Medusa's; they do not have any extension cables available. They instead suggested that I get 3x decent quality "stereo jack to double phono" leads, to extend the headphone's amp instead of just the headphones - which I have just done for £15 www.tvcables.co.uk.

Strange that the US version of these headphones comes with a 4m headphone cable and that the European version is housed with only a 2m cable.
