Any forum members got a medion lcd tv, any screen size, just noticed play are selling their 17 inch widescreen soon and wanted to see if they are any good before I buy 1, play probably won't give me a refund if it is crap!

I asked the same question here about a month or so ago and no one replied. From visual inspection and looking at the specs it looks identical to the Goodmans, Bush or Akai 17" widescreen. There's a review of the Goodmans on the Home Cinema Choice website.

I've had the Bush version for around a year now, a good set which I have in the bedroom. I paid £499 for mine, so £350 from Play seems a bargain.

It looks good with Sky and DVD......

Thanks for that. Do you experience the same problems with RGB SCART input (colour fringing) that was mentioned in the review? Do the component inputs accept NTSC/PAL progressive and/or HD (720p, 1080i)? (forrestgump: sorry to hijack this thread).

I use the set primarily as a second set in the bedroom, so my viewing of it is relatively limited, but from experience I have been pleased with it's performance with RGB dvd and Sky feeds. It accepts NTSC progressive, but not Pal. I can't comment on the HD query as I don't have it and nothing is mentioned in the manual......

At the end of the day, it's a (relatively) cheap set, especially at the Play price and pound for pound against much more expensive big name sets, I think it does a decent job.
