Hi guys!!

Does anyone know if the newer 8.5GB DVD-R discs will work on an older TOSHIBA RD-XS30 recorder????
I like to record in high quality, so I can generaly only get 1 maybe 2 things on a disc, EG. Episodes of HEROS, can only get 1 episode of 40mins on a disc, Which will be one hell of a lot of discs for the whole series!!!!!!:smashin:

Thanks in advance for any help guys:smashin:!!!!!!!

I cannot find the manual for this unit to give definitive information - but I don't think it will support Dual Layer discs.

Units with a similar engine from Toshiba do not appear to do so.

How much is each SL disc, versus the cost of a DL -R? Like maybe 10x less?

Otherwise; others must have suggested dropping to SP and getting 2 hours per SL DVD, surely?
