hi all, getting to grips with media portal now, and have it set up just about right, with 1 exception, for the life of me i cant add album covers to the main menu, ive added the album cover and its viewable once you select the album from the main menu (ie when you see the individual track lists) but when you have the list of the albums youve got on the hdd all i can see is tramsparent folders? anybody know what im doing wrong?

    thanx for any suggestions
    jason

Is your music tagged? If so have you imported it into the database??

The default shares view is not great and the library views are much much better

Check the options in the config app. There are lots of options to do with jpg creation there.

You can then change the view from shares to say genre and all the album art should be ok

finally worked it out, mediaportal didnt like my file structure, looking through my mp3 folder i noticed the ones that had cover art on the main screen were saved c:/mp3/artist/songs.mp3 the ones that didnt work were saved like c:/mps/artist/albumname/songs.mp3 so getting rid of the albumname folder they now all work :)

such a simple answer took me best part of 5 hours!!

thnks for the suggestions jameson_uk, looked into the tag bit and now have a tag editor so any that miss this info i can now edit etc :)

    thanx
