What do i need if i want to play music wireless stored on my laptop to my stereo?

I have my wireless router sitting next to my amp so do i need a wireless media adapter or a wired one to the router?

Does the sound quality depend upon the adapter or does it not process the sound, as such?

If you're just interested in streaming music then wireless will work well. If you want to stream video then you might start to have some issues with streaming DVDs. You may find that a wired adapter may be slightly cheaper but most are now wireless anyway.

Many of the major network vendors now produce these. Take a look at Netgear, Linksys, D-Link and also Pinnacle.
