OK...My PS3...Er well its rather good...Listen I am 54 years old(yes I know bloody old)yet I still enjoy gaming...not hardcore, never have been but a "Casual gamer" maybe 10 hours or so a week.I have owned every single damm console made since consoles were made and to be totally honest I have liked them all in one way or another. The PS3 has been brilliant I have never watched so many movies either in Blu-Ray or upscaled DVD format and I have never played games as much as RFOM,Motostorm,Formula1 and Ridge Racer7 plus a dozen or so of my old PS2 games which run OK on the PS3 .We have as a family thoroughly enjoyed owning it and linking it wirelessly with our PC has been a pleasure, viewing photos and listening to music.OK games have been somewhat limited but this really hasnt bothered me.I am looking forward to Sega Rally(yes another racer)and several others coming out over the next few months but I doubt whether I shall buy more than 2 or 3 more this year.Thats the way it is and I am happy with that.To be honest all the current consoles are superb so buy the one you like and be happy.I am...Goodnight..Time for a hot choc(Only joking I have just flipped the top off a bottle of Bud)1st one honest:smashin:

Since buying a new amp I'm starting to see how versatile the PS3 is being able to listen to SACD's for the first time and the Blu Ray movies really shine. I've only bought 3 games since the PS3 launched (the same car games as you mentioned ). Bit noisy when the fan gets going that's my only grip really about the PS3 but fortunately the new amp and speakers are assisting to rectify that problem :D

Not a problem for me. The projector fan makes enough noise to drown it out.

And yes the surround sound system helps as well. (Xbox spherex - does that make me a traitor?)

It would be nice if LoveFilm sent me a BD film. Plenty on my list and I keep getting DVDs. At least the PS3's upscaling makes them look superb.

I've only had BD films from them
You can make different lists and select which list you would like a disc from
I've got a list with just BD films in it :smashin:
I have to say I've been impressed with the service from them so far

To the OP good on ya
I feel a bit old at 38 at times to be gaming it's good to know I've a few years left in me yet :D

You haven't heard my PS3, also the 360 IMO doesn't sound anything like the same playing HD DVD's as it does when playing games.

Yep sounds very good to, you need an amp though that does audio over HDMI to get the full multi channel experience.

No it wouldn't do mate. With the 360 when playing DVD's the drive spins about 2x speed. However when playing a game the drive spins at 12x speed to give faster data transfer. This makes the console more noisy when playing games.
