    Okay

following yesterday's thread I started with regards to whether MCE warrants its own thread, Only Lisag so far has supported the suggestion :(

So I though I would start a poll, if I can work out how to do it.

personally i prefer to have all the hcpc stuff together - theres no missed info on h/w or system questions\info vs mce specific stuff ...

The problem as I see it is that, at the moment, non-MCE users are in the vast majority.

If we split the forum they will probably stay in their own forum and we could be missing out on their expertise.

Also, from my own point of view, it would just mean having to refresh an extra screen. Probably one that wouldn't get updated very often either.

As time goes by, more and more people will probably be getting involved with MCE and ultimately the number of MCE posts may well exceed the non-MCE postings. At that time it may be more appropriate to consider two forums.

Good point, it is a bit of a pain to do forum hopping - how about an MCE sticky in this forum?

    There are some valid points...

Hence why i sugested a sub forum.

I have MCE and have had a few issues, and searching through has been difficult (though if posts have mce its not quites o bad as xp prof or xp home as these are abreviated to xp).

Oh well I just shut up and go and stand in the corner :(

A sticky would be bad as it would be huge in the end and no one would find anything

For instance I think it was in the Elonex thread that there was a hack to get the movie infomation working in the UK where it is only meant to work in the US and Canada, but can I find it now 70 odd pages latter

No - don't go and do that :)
For MCE specific stuff there are a couple of dedicated forums (xpmce.com, or thegreenbutton.com) ... however when I'm looking for help with my ATI HDTV component adaptor, 9600, and MCE based system this forum is a great place for help !
