Anybody know how to specify the filter MCE uses to play MPEG2 video files.
I normally use the InterVideo filter (with hardware acceleration enabled) to play my Hi Def MPEG2 recordings but I can't get MCE to use this filter. I tried increasing the merit value of the Intervideo filter without success.
    Thanks.

    Jim.

I think you mean dvd codec?
You need to use an MCE compatible codec, and you can set priority using a program, that I think is called deccheck, available as a free download from Microsoft.

Thanks Lisag, I found the MS video decoder checkup utility but the problem seems to be the hardware acceleration. When I disable the hardware acceleration in the registry, the Hi Def files play much better but still not correct. I will have to look in to it further when I get time, there might be a plug in for HiDef.
BTW is it my settings or is this sub forum upside down, the newest posts are on the last page?

    Jim.

PS I notice the threads are right way up now.
