Maximum Scart Length

    Hi folks well i have a wee querry i have plasma on 1 wall and av equipment other end off room was jus goin to run scart leads between the two but its about 15 metres worth off cable, questions

    1:) Will i loose signal
    2:)Any suggestions?

    I posted same thing a few days ago but couldnt get any help

    15 mtrs! thats a bloody long room.

    I don't think it's ideal but give it a go and see. Haven't used a scart cable that length, but have tried VGA cables that long and I have had no problem.

    Get a dirt cheap cable and if it works at all to a decent degree, then you could go for a more expensive one.

    I have a 5m custom IXOS lead, I think it too long, personally SCART should be limited to 3m, or my choice 0m :) 15m well I hope you are an optimist, you will get something down the lead but I wouldn't like to comment on quality ;)

    AFAIK you can get powered boosters from places like keene, or you can get a different type of adaptor which will send the signal down CAT-5 cable and convert to scart at the other end.

    I have used 20m scart cables a couple of times!!!! needs a bloody strong signal and good cable but can be done! If you can try and get length down top 10-12m
