I wondered how long I could have a DVI-D cable from the back of my PC? The quoted maximum lengths from various sources are wooly. From Wikipedia, Digital Visual Interface : In general, cable lengths up to 4.5 m (15 ft) work for displays at resolutions of 1920 x 1200. Cable lengths up to 15 m (50 ft) can be used with displays at resolutions up to 1280 x 1024. All with the caveat : it depends on the quality of your transmission. I hoped to use a 15m cable plugged into my HD4850. Plenty of cable suppliers sell high quality cables up to 25m. Has anyone here used similar length (or longer) DVI-D cables with success? Thanks.
