Just wandered what the recommended distance would be for my set up.

The TV is 46in and sits at 3.20m from the sofa (viewing point).
The speakers are Monitor Audio Vector 5.1.
How far should they be positioned from the the centre of the screen?

    Thanks for your advice

Personally I don't like putting them any further wider than the screen itself, usually in a line underneath the display. For music the rule of thumb goes to follow an equilateral triangle layout of speakers to viewing position (ie 60deg) but for TV and movies this puts the speakers far too wide of the display and panning effects start way outside of the actual picture and are weirdly disjointed.

    Thanks
My current speakers are 1.5m away from the centre of the screen. Sounds like I have to find a way to bring them closer together. I was hoping I could avoid buying brackets, but sounds like not... :(
