Just bought one of these and was wondering if anybody knows anything about them. Haven't set it up yet but it does look good and is better than the Woolies one for £549 as it has a VGA.
Anybody know what the panel might be?

Got it set up and am very impressed. Good picture and good sound. Well worth the money. Would definitely recomend it over the techwood.

    Aaaah!!

So its either this or the Ebuyer Vistron!

Is this any good for PC pixel mapping?

Also, why can't I see this on the website? Is it only avaiable instore?

    Any input appreciated.

I have tried it with my 360 at the native res and it looked spot on but it did shift to the left but I think this is due to my vga lead and the MS update. If I attach my PC to it what am I looking for? How will I know if it is 1:1?

connect the pc through your vga connector and set your resolution on your pc to 1366 x 768 or as close as possible to that.

I have spoken to Akura who make this TV and it is the same as the AVLCD370-HDS Akura model and that one does have 1:1 pixel mapping. I will call them tonight when I have the Maxim code to confirm but the chap I spoke said it should have as it is the same TV undeneath.

I think im gonnan ring about and se if i can find one in stock near me. Thanks for trying to find out for me, very much apprechiated )

Well to find out if youve got 1:1 pixel mapping your tv should be looking like a pc monitor is the way it displays text, easily readable. Basically pixel for pixel mapping is your pc sending a resolution that matchs the ammount of pixels your monitor is made of. this means that you get an ultra crisp picture which I would say is pretty important if you want to use your pc on your tv, also looks miles better for games IMO.

out of interst when you say you played your xbox at native res what res was that ? 1360 x 768 ?

was there a tiny black border at the top and bottom? That would indicate pixel for pixel as your screen has 1366 pixels but your xbox is outputting 1360 so thats 6 pixels that shouldnt have a signal going to them ?

I know it seems petty but its a pretty important feature to get your pc working right through it.

Oh yeah, which store did you buy it from? Im struggling to find a store that has them in ???

    Thanks again )

    your absolutly right )

Just phoned just about every store near me and none have them in stock so phoned norwich store and they have 3 in stock so Im wondering if its worth the trip up there.

If his picture was shifted to the left would that be the 6 pixels or so border I was talking about then and therefore be pixel for pixel mapping ?

Oh yeah, any chance of some piccies of this TV or a model number so can find some on the net ?

Thanks again for all the help )

    Is it worth it ?

Does anyone have the full spec?

Download the exe from this site: http://flatpanels.dk/monitortest_dk.php
Run it and click on the 'power' button to get the menu and select the 1:1 pixelmapping test. This displays alternate black & white pixels. If you have 1:1 pixel mapping then there should be not interference, just perfect display of each pixels... 1:1 pixel mapping means there is no up/down scaling of your PC output at the LCD's max (native) resolution...

I've Googled for 'Maxim 37"' but I get a different sort of beauty ;) (not such a bad thing but...)
