Max Payne returns: Latest in-game images

    From Dailyradar .com

The original was one of the finest games of 2001. And the sequel's looking no slouch either...

Rockstar Games have today released a rucksackful of new shots of Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne, the sequel to 2001's superb action game.

The original Max Payne revolutionised the action genre with its cinematic combat sequences and groundbreaking use of slow motion. Its follow-up, which is due to be released for PC in October, is based around a violent love story between Max and a femme fatale murder suspect. It's always the way.

Expect a whole load of new guns and new moves, improved AI and incredible production values. We should have a full preview in the near future.

    MINIMUM SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS

    1Ghz PIII/Athlon or 1.2Ghz Celeron/Duron processor
32MB AGP graphics card with hardware transform & lighting support
    256MB RAM
    1.5 GB hard drive space
    Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
    DirectX 9.0
    Keyboard and mouse

    RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATIONS TO BE ANNOUNCED

Yes I bloody hated that blood trail bit, I stoopidly saved the game while i was lost in the 2nd blood trail bit and could never find a way out. Not played it since but it was very good up until that

excellent graphics, looks like my existing Radeon 8500 won't be able to hack it!

only problem is, as far as i can see, max payne doesn't look the same he did in the original game :(
(ie looks like a different person)

It was just down to the right from the way in. A little floating platform with a crib on it I think.
Anyway I loved that game especially with some of the kung-fu mods people have done.
Guess when a demo comes out my age-ing pIII 800 and GeForce4 ti4200 will make an attempt to run it.
Think I'll be saving up for a new pc soon.

I didn't rate the 1st one much. Yes there was lots of eye candy but once the novelty of bullet time wore off it was just your same old repetative shoot 'em up imo. I did think the cartoon strip to tell the story was an interesting idea but other than that didn't rate it that highly. I prefer something a little deeper and more involving like the likes of Deus Ex and the theif series something that offered nice eye candy (at the time) and had more varied gameplay.
