I need to connect the SPDIF from my computer to my amplifier that is located some 16 meters away in another room!

Is this distance too much for optical fibre???

    Any help appreciated!

A good quality optical fibre can carry signals for hundreds of kilometres so I don't think you'll have any trouble going just 16m. :)

Thanks for the quick reply! Are there any optical cables that you would prefer?

Just go for one that looks well made with some good quality connectors at either end. :)
