Max Length of charge cable?

Can anyone tell me whats the max length of the ps3 controller charge cable can be used or even got? usb to mini usb.

I'm trying to use my ps3 from another room but just can't get the type of connection required for good gaming! It drops in and out abit to much!

So i was gonna try get 2 - 15mtr charge cables and track them into the skirting with the hdmi lead.

Hope you can help or suggest!

Does the pad even use the USB connection to pass its input data to the PS3 when its plugged in??

You may find the USB will just charge the thing rather than convert the pad into a wired controller...?


Dunno... Just a thought as I connect my pads to my PC to charge them up so I thought the USB input was just a charge point.

I don't know about the ps3 but I use my sixaxis's on laptop for emulated games and it works fine using the usb lead (laptop doesn't have bluetooth so there's no way it's using that)

To the op, Afaik, you can just run any length of usb-mini usb cable and it'll work fine.

Don't really want to go out and buy 2 x 20 mtr cables if i have to.

plus I haven't found any yet so it could be difficult to even get them!

ive had mine plugged in through a charge cable, and then a standard usb extension lead. Only a 5m one but that one certainly worked. see no reason why a longer one wouldnt. Easiest bet is probably usb extensions. doubt you would find a 20m mini usb - usb cable. Think my 5m one was about £4 from scan
