    Hi all,

Had a flick through the forms, noticed a few people have jobs (like me!) :hiya:
After dealing with strange 13 year old americans shouting abuse which makes no sense I'm hoping to have a bit more fun playing through Halo 3 campaign with some normal "happy" people given it's a mature :confused:rating? Or do I have no hope!?!

Multiplayer will be random I would guess, unless you play party games with your friends list, but playing co-op on the campaign mode would be something you and someone on your friends list will do?

Me and my mate played Halo 2 split screen when that came out, luckily we have have 360's and LIVE now so it should be great.

You'll find a few more mature members on these very forums (I'm 31 myself, does that qualify?), it would be good to see you online sometime. We have a group over at Bungie (there's a link in my thread) where you can see other AVF Halo 3 players and meet up for a game on campaign or otherwise, would be great if you popped in.

I see this is your first post. Welcome to the forum :hiya:

I know exactly where you're coming from mate. Yeah I'm 37, with a job, 2 teens and i gets the same hassle as you - online. Which has really put me off Xbox live. Abuse is not the sort of thing i would like my kids hearing.

Which is funny because when i had a Dreamcast i played Quake 3 arena online alot, and that was a right laugh. I've always prefered the old method of typing on a keyboard to chat intruth. Atleast the foul mouthed baffoons were a bit more discreet that way.

But If a game was to get me back online again, Halo 3 would be it. Some of the guys here seem like decent chaps. I guess it's a matter of sticking with the right crowd of people. Why let anyone restrict your enjoyment. Go for it ! :smashin:

I'm 33 and new to this whole online gaming thing (not to gaming though, started that age 10 with an Atari console!). So far, after upgrading to Gold, I've had a few games on the COD4 beta, but I think my first major go at online gaming will be with Halo 3. Just signed up for the AVForums Halo 3 group so I'll hope to see you all around.:hiya:

Hi lobster and welcome to the forums. Re your post, there are loads of "mature" gamers on here, I think most that play regularly are around the 30 something mark, except Dr Evilest, he's just ancient (ask him about the war if you come across him). However, I would say the average mental age is still about 15!

I'm only joking, top bunch of guys on here. I have pre-ordered Halo 3 and being a Halo virgin will defintately be looking for some co-op buddies online so stick your gamertag up and ping out a few FR's, mention the AV Forums, and you'll soon have some good games underway.

Coming to this place was the best thing i could have done for my gaming pleasure. I now hardly ever play with randoms as i've got loads of good lads n lassies on my friends list from AVF.
Just add a bunch of people from one of te halo3 threads and you'll be almost guaranteed a good time.
I can't promise they'll be no abuse shouting though but it will all be in jest, the banter is generally top notch and sometimes on Gears i can hardly speak for laughing too much

What is the etiquite for adding gamertags from here, do people mind if I add them?

Same for me guys these forums are full of great people, but my friends list is not, so it would be good to play some games with some people on here who like having a laugh. Americans who like calling people "fag*ot" need not apply :)

Likewise I don't know what the ettiquette for adding friends is (as most of my friends list I know personally) but I'm putting my gamertrag out there for anybody and everybody to add if they want.

    Was that a tumblweed...?

Great responses thanks all:smashin:, feeling very relieved and willl ping out some friend requests when I am next online, probably next Thursday as that is when I'll be picking the game up:clap:. though I may have a crack through on herioc by myself first off. Most of my friends dont bother with online be nice to have some decent banter rather than who can say the most swear words in a minute kind of stuff.....

Add me too if you like.
I don't have Halo yet but I'm very mature... :D

I've been online with Flatout and TDU but quickly backed out when I realised I'd been lumped in with a load of 12 year olds....

Feel free to add me as well. Gamertag is "gismoid"

Was on COD4 beta last night and all i can say is "what a joke"! The amount of abuse that gets chucked around is pathetic!

On a lighter note, really looking forward to some sensible online gaming with some of the great peeps from here. :D

I can vouch for the quality of gamer you get on here, especially the GoW mob; friendly, not too serious & definitely NOT mature, except maybe in age :)

My console is dead at the moment but hopefully have a replacement Saturday, feel free to send me an FR. Not sure about Halo3 (although I'm sure I will) but GoW for sure ...

I'm always a bit unsure unless there's a definite invite.
That being the case, I've just sent out about 10 requests so if you get a message from The Brogans feel free to accept :smashin: or ignore me...:(

    See you all online. :D

    No worries.

Don't forget you can always send and accept friend requests, messages, etc. via www.xbox.com
That's where I usually manage my account from as it's easier than using the gamepad.

totally agree. Whilst is can be nice (more of a challenge) to get a certain achievement, I dont let it worry me at all. Doesn't always mean your a better or worse player.

Can I join in here? Happy to be added to peoples friends lists.

I'm playing the COD4 beta a lot at the moment and am fed up with a) getting my arse kicked and b) listening to 12 year old Americans.
