I currently have a Radeon 9600 connected to a panny PW6 plasma and wonder if changing the graphics card to a matrox will give better sharpness?
I know that Matrox are renowned for 2d graphics work but will there really be a noticeable difference. I am of course referring to the matrox millenium G550 card.

Matrox are rarely seen in HTPCs it seems to me, I really don't think they 'rate' as far as video rendering is concerned but certainly can't talk from experience.

Depending on what else you use an nVidia 6600/6800 could improve things but it isn't usually 'night and day' and not with a relatively low-res. device like a plasma really, IMX the improvement is seen with larger displays at typically 1280x720 or so.
