Don't forget that DTS-ES isn't a cinema format, so it means that if this is the case someone will have to remix an extra centre rear channel for this release.

Wouldn't you rather have the soundtrack in the format the sound designer intended?

Matrixed dts es IS a theatrical format...es discrete isn't. It dosen't mention which one this is.
Might be alright you know - has DD EX on it as well. T2 was never released in theatre's with a matrixed surround back channel but the DVD sure sounded fine...

Have read on the american AV forum site that the website in Sweden which listed these details often puts out inaccurate information, this was a swedish guy who wrote in, so its likely it WILL NOT have DTS in sweden.

It seems very unlikely that just Sweden would get DTS-es, as Warner (and their subsiduaires, such as Village Roadshow in Australia) are releasing this DVD in all regions, and (as has been pointed out before), Warner HATE dts. Maybe not hate it, but certainly do not support it on DVD releases, so much as their theatrical releases.

The only exception to this rule is the Time-Warner owned company, New Line Cinema, who seem to be the only studio who know how to put together consistently excellect DVD's (and who support DTS-es on most of their releases).

Just take a look (and listen!) at Jason-X, Goldmember, Blade 2, Final Destination 2 (which is, i think, the best use - so far - of surround sound), Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition) and the upcoming Two Towers (extended edition).

Plus you can expect DTS-es (and DD5.1ex) on upcoming releases of (region 1):

Texas Chain Saw Massacre (the new version in cinemas October) (due on DVD February/March 2004)
Freddy Vs Jason (due Xmas/New Year)
...should be a cracking few months for DVD, for New Line releases anyway!
