cool, thanks for the heads up
but i still think i might wait a lil bit...theres almost certainly gonna be a superdupaspecialdirectorsextremeedition gonna materialise sooner or later
I expect so as well, in fact i think it has been announced already. But for that stonking price who cares!!!
but yeah, i agree fantastic price!
still alot to pay for a turd though, dont you think?
LOL Gary, just post the url to your profiler collection, I'm sure we can pick holes in it aplenty
I bought the Two Towers on Pre-order and was gutted that it was in the shops for loads less within a couple of days.
This time I waited for Matrix Reloaded and will pop down to Dixons tonight for a real bargain. Cheers!
I saw the film at the cinema and was underwhelmed, but I will give it another go at home too.
Nooooooooooo, don't do it - saw it for the first time on Friday, what a terrible film, the only redeeming feature was Hugo Weaving the rest was incomprehensible mumbo jumbo. At least the first one had some stand out features - Bullet time & the Lobby Scene will live long in movie folklore but this was pants from start to finish. Oh and the fight scenes just got tedious, at one point it just felt like an episode of Buffy, silver bullets vampires
I'll have to watch the third one though
I enjoyed it once that dancing mumbo jumbo was out of the way.
I though the 2 set fighting secenes were good and the sight of Monica Bellucci as Persephone.
Could someone LMK if this is this available from Dixons now, or is it just being advertised for Friday?
See that's the problem with this film. I saw it months ago and thought 5/10.
But now it is out on DVD there is going to be LOADS of discussion about it on the forums. Not specifically the quality of the film or the content I'm gonna listen out for - BUT the action scenes are going to get lots of repeats as we attempt to blow our ear-drums & force the neighbours to move out permanently.
We'll all add it to our "Must use this as demo disc" lists and will pull it out every Saturday night after the pub for a quick flick through our (probably very few) favourite chapters.
Certainly won't make many peoples Top 10 Best Films, but will surely be right up there as ear candy?
It is the price for release for friday, but if they start selling it early, which will probably happen as Woolworths have no idea on how to keep to release schedules, i will post it here.
I thought Monica Bellucci looked terrible in reloaded. I'll be waiting to buy all 3 when some sort of SE boxset is realeased.
Are you gay?
Ah yes Monica, there was one (or two) more redeeming features. As for demo material - I don't think so, sold my copy the same evening I watched it. I rate it DVD's biggest disappointment of the year so far (A title previously held by Dire another day).
Garrett, it wasn't the dancing that bothered me (though I thought it was silly) but all the tosh about programs, keymakers (was he based on Rick Moranis in Ghostbusters maybe?) and guff like that, it was just silly.
No. In fact I have been known to buy many films just because of their leading ladies. Note that I didn't say Monica was not nice, she certainly is, just watch Malena, but in reloaded, she looked bad IMO.
The big fight scene with all the Smiths will be a dvd classic, plenty of time to heat and eat a pot noodle and it still wont have finished
lol, thats the best standard ever!
surely the only way in which to judge something
great scene. only saw the flick once in the cinema though...really need to see it again to fully take in what was forced through my eyes at high speed just think i'll wait for a better version dvd and/or a boxset...
pot noodle all the way!
Just finished watching the film, very nice transfer, pic and sound both quite good, but dd soundtrack could do with a tad more oomph, an extended surround mix perhaps?(do warner do em?).
As per Monica Belucci and the pubic hair rumor, i can confirm that yes you can see her brazillian landing strip after about 1hr 12m i think(no im not a perv!!!!, just trying to confirm rumour).
Only thing i will say to people who own LCD Tv's is that sometimes the motion can look somewhat odd, esp in scenes with lots of cgi, but on my toshiba crt the motion seemed more 'real'(probabaly not the right word, but i know what i mean)
So all in, a bargain dvd at £13.49 with some quality demo sequences.
iamtheone - did you get yours at dixons or online
My holes are my business, and i'm not going to publically display them to you or anyone else
I thought the film was pretty poor and although I probably will see the third in the cinema just incase, there is no point in buying the dvd... it's going to be released at least 3 times and I think a lot of people won't be buying it 'cause it was poor and on the whole (in most places) it'll be expensive. I reckon January sales it'll be £6.99
And I still don't think I'll buy it then.... I may buy it as a trilogy when that's reduced 'cause of poor sales but on the whole like a lot of people I'm pretty dissiousined with the matrix franchise. The second film was crap but we still have to see the third to see what happens the first one has been reissued on DVD god knows how many times and what started off as a good potentially enjoyable sci-fi trilogy for proper sci-fi fans has turned into a load of crap that's turned into a corporate marketing franchise.
Glad I've got that off my chest
And Keanu Reeves cant act.
Pete - id rather not disclose that information - sorry
Just phoned Dixons in Morrgate to see if they had started selling Matrix Reloaded early and the guys response was "What is the Matrix?". I thought he was joking first but then realised he had never heard of the Matrix. Mind you it didn't stop him trying to sell me an extended warranty.
By the way Baldbird I agree with all of your comments but will still buy it at Dixons if I can get it at that price.
classified dvd buying, whatever next
hmm sort of yeah!!!
sounds very shifty, hehehe
i cant decide whether or not to get it, i thought it was a bit crap, and i watched it at pics and then on dvd. ill eventually end up buying it but i think i will wait until the price has dropped a bit, maybe after they have released the 3rd one, which from the latest trailer looks quality
Just picked up my copy from Dixons (Leeds) for £13.49!
Walked past Virgin on the way back ... advertised for £18.99 in the window!!!
Can't comment on the film yet as I didn't get to see it at the cinema ... roll on tonight ...
I phoned Dixons this morning and they said it was 16.99 so I brought from Smiths which is closer to . Thanks to your posting MarkHudds I phoned again and they said it was 13.49 after all. I've now gone and brought it from Dixons. Just got to find a few minutes to return it to Smiths later.
You can't keep a skinflint down.
Am I missing something here?
I tried Dixons in Bristol (dont seem to sell DVD's)...
G/f tried Dixons Walsall for me today... (very few DVD's apparently but ALL old)...
And Dixons online sells about 6 DVD's....
Have I got the wrong Dixons store? Is there a secret to this purchase?
