i was just wondering how many users turn on
matrix decoding when the source material isnt
actually matrix encoded. (i.e standard 5.1)

Have you noticed the AV's decoders producing a good
    replication of 6.1 (7.1) sound
or did the material seem to degrade in quality.

    any comments welcome please.

    thanks

Guess it sounds.....ok ish. Like any sound matrix, it 'plays' with the soundfields.
After the initial playing with all the sound modes on my 555es, have now settled down to just using 'auto format decode'

Seems to me all the current receivers have too many useless and never used modes on them? Wish the money was spent, for instance, on a better power supply?..:D

I always use 6.1 whether using PL 2 or 5.1 matrixed.
