How important is it (if at all) to match power amps with processors? I assume it is the processor which gives the sound its "feel" and the power amp gives the grunt.

I've just bought a s/h Rotel 1068 and want something to match with it & M&K K series speakers. Preferably 6 channels. Any one used the NAD T973 and care to comment on its performance. Would it be a good match with the Rotel?

    Cheers

Your better off IMHO trying to get an RMB-1075 and say an RB-03 or RMB-1070.

Why do you need 6 channels? are you running 6.1 or something.

I had a Parasound processor, in fact it's sitting under my bed upstairs, that was v.good - but when I switched to a Naim AV2 it really clicked with my Naim amps. I burrowed the AV2 for a weekend and it didn't go back!

My Bryston powers matched very well with my TAG processors, but sound became a bit aggressive when I got a Krell processor...

My new Bel Canto power matches the Krell very well...

Theres not usually any problems matching different make processors and amps :) I use a Parasound with my Tag and it sounds great, of course keeping it all the same make is a bit of a safer bet as they will be designed to work together (output level versus input sensitivity etc) If you are gonna mix makes make sure you have a good listen first
