Cheers on the review, Cas. V-Dog is definitely making this show zing and stay away from need for the resuscitation paddles. And thankfully so, as it's running with the so, so old and usually tiresome story of the super hero coming back from some defeat to get to where they need to to restart the fire.
I'm four episodes in and Vincent D'onofrio is sure footing things whilst Charlie Cox prannies about for a bit. Having said that, Cox is doing a better than usual on screen job here of lost faith but Vincent D'onofrio steals every moment he's in and in a good way. It's clear that's it's not only his character's persona that the other actors are all too aware of being up against and are outgunned at every turn.
The only thing that pissed me off so far with Fisk, is that he's been written to keep going on about Vanessa like a lost puppy or, punched in the head one time too many Rocky with his ADRIAN! But that's a minor quibble to the brute force with a heart that Fisk and his Dr Hannibal Lecter sensibilities of music and fine dining serve up.
Foggy continues to be the, supposedly, lovable numbskull - so not much new there. Though Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page has switched, or should I say twitched, up a gear or three to some PTSD-like feverish level of a jilted girlfriend/journo nut on a crusade - step away from ALL stimulant substances Karen, now. But then she's not alone, what with twitchy trigger fingered pre-Bullseye Dex looking and acting like he's a Tide Pod munch away from total insanity. Why they called him Poindexter is a mystery to me, as it's used as a source of derision in many a college frat movie over the years.
Definitely the best series of Daredevil thus far.

I didn't know that! Just googled and Iron First too :/ They weren't the strongest shows, but I like B shows and movies - who doesn't?

DareDevil is an A series. Strong hitting and the best of the bunch, following by the Punisher. I've just started S3 - so flag Kingpin is back!

This is the best series to date! The new characters are all brilliantly portrayed and deep... Frankly, after the dross that's been released since DD2 I was really worried, but this has restored all my faith (pun intended?)! :D

They decided to to just air the defenders series instead. I liked luke cage over punisher which dud not improve over the first few episodes. I just like Luke Cage character and love the music.

Just about halfway through this at the moment and I'm reminded of the DeadPool 2 joke, "it's so dark you must be from DC". But Netflix Marvel has always been a little dark and this time it works with Kingpin and DD as the main antogonists - George

Looking forward to this, And am quite miffed that they have cancelled Iron Fist And Luke Cage as both were left wide open for season 3!

I'm only 2 episodes in so far, but I have to say it's a thankless task playing Daredevil in this show. He gives it his all, you can see it right up there on the screen. But every time, the number 2 guy; Fisk in season 1, Punisher in 2 and now Fisk again, comes in and steals the whole show out from under him.

Daredevil is head and shoulders above any other Marvel TV show and just keeps getting better. I've only watched two episodes of season 3 and it's been fantastic so far. Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk is hands down the most intimidating TV villain I've ever watched. I'm pretty fearless and afraid of no one but I think my arse would collapse if Wilson Fisk said boo to me

Not the best of the bunch as Season 1 was good but Season 2 of Daredevil was poor. It had so much potential with Elektra introduced but shoddy direction and execution by the showrunners. Season 3 did redeem itself for the subpar season 2 but you can't say Daredevil is the best of the bunch when one of the seasons is poor.

Jessica Jones was the same season 1 was good (i enjoyed it even more than Daredevil season 1) but season 2 of Jessica Jones was a let down. Hopefully season 3 redeems itself like season 3 of Daredevil. Punisher season 1 was good, Jon Bernthal is a very underrated actor he has great presence on screen in whatever he stars in.

Daredevil is on par with Jessica Jones and The Punisher. The Punisher will be overall above both quality wise if the second season is as good as the first as it won't have had any poor seasons like thessecond seasons of both Daredevil and Jessica Jones

Just my personal opinion though alot of people agree that David Tennant's performance of Kilgrave in Jessica Jones season 1 is the best portrayal of a marvel villian on the small screen.

Agreed Kilgrave and Fisk are pretty much level pegging for top villains on marvel TV. I don't think that's questionable really. Great actors, well written .

Watched the first episode and I thought it was a tad slow but, overall it was OK.

Watched all 13 eps over the weekend.
I would say the trailer is more darker than actual season as a whole.
Daredevil sure gets beaten up a lot.
Season 2 was better because The Punisher was in it.
It was a tad slow in parts but that is too expected.
Left it open for season 4 but with Iron Fist and Luke Cage cancelled, my hopes are not high really
It could have been better...but Fisk stole every scene he was in... (Amazing actor)
      Solid 7/10.

Cheers @Casimir Harlow was anticipating your review of this & hoping it was good :smashin:

Can't wait to start this now.

The Punisher has been my fave so far, just top class from start to finish, so will be interesting to see if this tops it for me.

Agree, it's weird that Netflix has so much plod in it considering it does not have to keep you still so you watch the adverts, like a regular US TV series does. I guess they've just nicked the format and...not done anything really new with it in these.

Sorry can't remember whether it was here I said it or not, but D'Onofrio's Fisk really deserves an outing on the big screen. He is a real memorable villain.

This series is really great, I am having to force myself not to binge it in one hit. For once the pacing seems about right to me, every episode has moved the plot forward in an interesting way and hasn't felt padded at all. Watched episode 5 last night and thought the reveal of
      Dex's
      past was handled brilliantly.

Binged through this in Friday night and Saturday morning. Thought it was excellent.
Very pleasing that it didn’t suffer the usual mid season lag (aka, why is this 13 episodes, not 10!!).
If anything, the slowness felt a little more present at the start, which was fine as build up, then it hit its stride and just didn’t let up afterwards.

(Really hoping LC and IF find their home in the much mooted spin off. If only as I need a regular fix of Collen Wing)

      I was left thinking, Vanessa
was obviously being set up to run the Fisk empire whilst he's inside. And somewhat disappointed how quickly he folded but was so clearly written from the outset to go down for her. Oh well, great stuff otherwise. Let's trust she makes life difficult for some.

I don't know if it was just because I rerun the eq on my avr or not, but the score was epic, really built the tension well and carried the story, with some serious sub moments mixed in. Really enjoyable.

Great Review Cas! Thanks! For me, whilst I love a good serious movie, these series provide everything I want in that you can take as many episodes as you want, drop out for a bit then come back in, like putting your favourite jumper on! Another aspect I love is that sound effects and PQ give your system something to show off. Have loved DD 1&2, and am currently devouring DC's Gotham, which I have also really enjoyed so far. My modest system seems to really kick in with these shows, and that's when I think, yep, worth the money, research, time invested, in my kit. Isn't that why we're all here?
