A friend of mine has been offered a Marquee 7500 for free!

It's not really for me - I'm not looking to set up my projector system for a couple of years yet.

Does anyone know anything about this CRT projector? Are we talking Ellie, Barco 7 or Barco 8 quality?

Many thanks, as always, in advance.
    Nick

    Many thanks Squid.

I had never heard of them until today.

As you say, there are loads of posts on the US site (although only on the Marquee 8500 and 9000).

    Cheers
    Nick

    If its free get it.

It should be an 8" CRT that would do up to 1024x768 with ease. Usual check with a tourch down the lens to see if there are any burns.

But this is a gift horse don't forget.

It's the basis for the TAWHD800 so you can download the install manual at TAW as well.

Should be a great picture, but an ugly box.....

    Thank you so much.

    You guys are great.

My friend has now taken delivery. He tried to overcome the unit's low wife acceptance factor with a romantic candle lit dinner but all to no avail. Therefore it looks like it will be coming to me.

Gordon: The time scale for my installation has therefore been brought forward a year or so. It seems to me that even if I have to replace the tubes, it will be worth having. Would you be able to do the installation and any necessary overhaul? Will it work with a scaler?

    Thanks again
    Nick

It'll definately work with a scaler. In fact I recommend it!

Email me when it's in your possesion and we'll discuss its future!
