Brand new Mario tennis title from Camelot, looks like it uses the power shots from the 3DS game with power-ups thrown into the mix.

Didn't the N64 version have power shots? I'm certain it did and that's why I enjoyed it so much. I loved it on 3ds too. Unlocking characters and the like. Quit playing it though as with all other Mario games for some reason. Maybe because I need more story as I get older.

It did, but they weren't so overpowered as those in the GameCube and 3DS games. Both were ruined by the power-ups and things in my opinion. I don't mind power-ups in the extra modes (bomb mode on the Cube was great) but I want to at least have the option to turn them off in the main game and multiplayer.

I thought those were what made the series different from the typical tennis game... it's what made it fun for me. You could always counter them if you were quick enough, and if you were good enough then you would not let the other team have the opportunity to get a power shot on you. Otherwise rallys could last forever.

    Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

A couple of freebies there for ordering from the Nintendo Store. Doubt I'll buy this but would be a great package to arrive, game for me, plush toy for one of the dogs and a tennis ball for the other, only the missus loses out:laugh:

The gameplay is as good as the other versions, but to say it is bare bones would be an understatement.

It doesn't even have Ring Shot mode. That alone would have given me a reason to pick it up for mulitplayer sessions.
