Has anyone tried standing their speakers with spikes on granite marbel slabs, also sandwiching the sub between two slabs? I costed it for my system at a local stonemasons who said they get lots of requests. Also they quoted me £250. Anyone tried it ??

It should make a difference. it certainly with if your floor is not very level or stable.

Sandwiching the sub in stone should also improve it's performance, because it will help prevent the sub from both moving, ground it better and help decrease any cabinet deformation.

    Is it worth £250 though?

Probably not unless you've got a pretty decent sub, or you want it to look nice.:)

What about concrete paving slabs instead of stone? Would be a hell of a lot cheaper than £250.
