I've just purchased some top-notch speaker cable for my home theatre. Only problem is that it's terminated with spades and I've just realised my Marantz SR9300 receiver won't accept spades (only bare wire or bananas, with the plugs removed).

Is there any way to upgrade the binding posts on a receiver? Is this something a hi-fi repair shop could do fairly easily? What replacement binding posts would you recommend?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure there really is I'm afraid. It's the curse of the European necessity for touchproof terminals.

You might be able to get an adapter, but it's bound to cause signal degredation, and with top notch cables probably unwise. I'd buy some quality banana plugs, cut off the spades and fir them yourself if you are ok with that type of DIY, or just a hi-fi store to do the same. Mess with the cables not the receiver ;)
