    It will probably let you use the amp as an over sized sound card. The lack of support for the "software" will be down to the fact that a pc or DVD player or what ever device it is will send PCM or convert it to Dolby or something the amp does decode (I’m betting on the first though).

    I have a Yamaha pc amp, it doesn't support any of these formats, only decodes DTS and DD but can read them as the pc does the work to send it something it understands.

    I think Marantz have cottoned on to the HTPC thing and are bringing out something for some one who wants / has hi-end stuff.

    One thing I would like to know is, will the dvi output convert component and other analogue inputs to dvi or will it just be a switch for the two inputs.
