I am considering buying a Marantz SR7400, but am concerned about its depth.

The spec has a figure of 463mm which is too big for the space I have available.
Does this figure include binding posts and knobs?

I would be grateful if someone could give me a figure for the depth of just the case.

I went to a HiFi shop today to take a look at Marantz receivers.
I measured an SR5500 which has the same depth according to the Marantz specs.

    Its case is 420mm deep.

The case is 418mm deep but the speaker binding posts add on another 25mm. If banana plugs are used to terminate the speaker cables, you'll need to allow for that as well. The 463mm is the measurement from the front of the volume and selector knobs to the end of the binding posts. For what it's worth, my setup is installed within an Ikea Magiker cabinet - bit of a snug fit (and ignores Marantz's recommended clearances for cooling purposes) but I've had no problems after nearly a year of use. Having said that, I only power it up when needed.
