I'm becoming more and more tempted by the new AVR-3805 - is it worth going from my existing Marantz SR7200 to the 3805, or am I simply suffering from a case of the itchy feet?

Alternatively, would the 2805 be a worthwhile move?

    I don't intend to use 6.1 or 7.1......and listen to movies/music in a rough 70/30 split.

your music quality will drop by a fair bit, your movie sound will improve significantly but if quality of sound is your main thing then wait for Marantz's new models!
    Well thats my opinion anyway!

If stereo music matters to you then it best to stick with Marantz, however Denon 3805
is pretty good in stereo as well. I had a Denon 3801 and i ditched it for a Marantz 9200 and have never looked back.

Still if you have a dvd player that can take advantage of Denon Link (Denon A11) then 3805 will be a general improvment sound wise, not to mention the automatic setup,Upconverting and loads of other features. The denon in Dolby Digital and DTS is simply brilliant.

    It a tough choice.
