    Hi All

I have just bought a Marantz SR7200 Receiver

On the receiver there are no Dolby Digital EX and dts-es logos but in the manual it states that it supports 6.1 - “…. This mode is suited to 6.1 encoded material such as Dolby Digital EX and dts-es”

So does this mean the receiver can decode Dolby Digital EX and dts-es (matrix, discrete)?

    Thanks

    Guy

I don't have your amp. but I suspect you will be able to correctly hear both DD EX and DTS-ES with the extra rear channel.

I doubt the 7200 will decode ES Discrete, but as Discrete has the rear channel maxtrix'd in anyway, you will still be able to hear it OK, even without a Discrete ES decoder.
