Had the above amp for a couple of months now. Very happy with it until yesterday, when it started to switch itself onto standby during loud parts of DVDs. I have also checked it with Sky and CD (source direct), and turning the volume up induces exactly the same problem.

I tried resetting it, but this hasn't made any difference.

It might be a coincidence, but a couple of days ago I disconnected all of my gear to install my new TV stand/rack, and reconnected using new cables throughout. However, since everything is working OK until it cuts out, I do not see how this could be relevant.

Will phone Marantz Technical Dept on Monday, but wondered if you guys had any thoughts ?

    Regards

    Ricky27,

Yes, it's disabled, but in any case, TV is not connected to amp.

Problem is definately related to sound level, rather than any predefined timer type function.

    Regards

Ok ,i thought of that because even if there is no TV connected, these amps turn themselves off if the tv-auto is enabled.

Where is the volume at when it does this?

    Ricky27,

Found that a binding post on one of my speakers was a bit loose, and tightening this seems to have fixed the problem. I'm not sure why the cutting out was affected by volume, as I would expect it to either work or not.

For the record, volume levels were fairly low - between -25dB and -35dB.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Regards
