Ok, what do i have to do to permit Sound from TV to come out
    of my Surround (Kefs speakers)??
What connections do i need to make and what do i need to set up on the OSD menu??

    Tv(phillips 32pw9617) has:
    EXT1 - connected to DVD
    EXT2 - connected to SAT.
    EXT3(scart) - spare
    EXT4(scart) - Spare

    and various vid/dig. outputs etc.

Simply connect a pair of Audio phono leads from the TV's RCA Audio Outputs to the Marantz sr5200 TV Audio Inputs. Then just switch to TV on the AMP. You may need to configure the AMP in the setup menu to tell it that the TV Input is Analogue rather than Digital. Check the sr5200 display to see if it says Analogue or Digital when you select TV. You can switch between Analogue/Digital using the A/D button on the remote.

Just have to ask: why do you want to have sound coming from the TV set to the KEF speakers? I assume you mean getting off-air broadcasts from your SAT box to the Kef's? If so, then I believe that Groundy has given you a less efficient way (yes Groundy, you have answered his question as he asked it) to do this.

If you run a phono lead from the telly to the amp, you are routing the signal much further than is neccessary ie. from the SAT box, down a SCART (or similar lead) to the telly, then thru. the tellys internal amp to it's RCA points and then down the phono leads to the AV amp and eventually it gets to the KEF's.

Rather just run a pair of phono leads from the audio out on the SAT box to a suitable analogue input eg. SAT or AUX on your 5200. Done.

The telly will still produce sound on it's own (as it does now), but you will have a shorter signal path when u watch SKY or whatever, resulting in better sound. Your amp will auto-detect the analogue signal and all you have to do is go thru. the amp menus (use the remote, not OSD) until PLII is activated on the amp.

I also have my SR5200 configured this way

VHS recorder phono out to Tape Phono in
Sat box phono out to TV phono in

Don't know SKY boxes do this but I have my kit connected like this:

NTL digibox phono outs to DSS input on Sr5200.

I have my VCR connected to the cable box via scart.
Don't know quite way but the DSS setting also picks up the VCR sound. So the sound from the VCR must go via the cable box phono outs and into the amp too. Which is nice.
