Going to be getting my first av setup soon.

Havnt decided out of these to receivers on which one to get.

    What are the differences?

Where can I get them for a good price?

    Thanks in advance,

    \\Chris

Richer sounds advertise the SR4400 for £250.

I'm going for the SR5400 at £300 as an upgrade to an SR4200 as it gets a much better review than the 4400. Do a review search in AV resources.

4 series amps, although good value for money ultimately all sound thrashy; there's a point in their range where they sound quite good - but it's nowhere near the power limit.

I haven't heard any of the later 5 series but I'm told they are more mellow, warm and controlled.

Just bought the 5400 and it sounds great out of the box - very controlled and with acurate steering. Noticably better than my 4200. Will be calibrating it soon.

    Cheers,
    Callum.

    What's a second hand Sr4300 worth?
