    Hi all,

    I have just bought a Marantz SR4200 after reading a lot of reviews, and although the sound is solid, I have virtually no bass. I only have two 90W speakers connected to the front, but as I mostly do my listening in headphones, this isn't an issue. I will, of course, at some point obtain a sub with rear speakers.

    My setup is as follows:

    Front = Large
    C = None
    Surround = None
    Sub = No

    Bass is set to max, but still it sounds somewhat flat. My old JVC
    AX-E33 stereo amp produced much more bass than Marantz, and I know my
    headphones and speakers are capable of delivering much more bass than
    that.

    The manual doesn't explain every single setting there is so maybe I am just missing something?

    Thanks

    as a potential purchaser of the same receiver this is of some interest!

    The speakers are 90W JVC SP-E33... fairly old now but still produce plenty of sound. But like I said, I mostly listen in headphones, and bass output is disappointing.
