    Hi folks,

was set on the Anthem just for its musical ability but heard the Marantz and found it a fairly bit better with movies but not so good with music in stereo mode unfortunately. Still torn though...

I've just replaced my admittedly old Marantz with an Anthem MRX500 and the difference even to my inexperienced ears is like night and day! The Anthem is SO much better. I'm rubbish at reviews and describing things but I'm extremely pleased with mine and wouldn't want to go back to anything else!
Get the Anthem you won't regret it! :smashin:

But the SR7005 is a really good receiver though. Much better than older models. I found the MRX300 overrated and just really great with music. I might try to listen to both once again.

Yeah I would definitely try one again and make sure it's properly setup with ARC.
I'm extremely impressed with both movies and music on mine and I've only had it a few days so not really had a chance to properly tweak it yet!
My Marantz was about 10 yrs old (I forget which model) but at the time was praised for how good it sounded but the Anthem is in a different league!
At the end of the day it's what ever sounds best to you!
