Does anyone know are there any major advantages over last years NR1606?
Great, that's not too much. Just took delivery of 1606 and was hoping I wasn't going to miss out!
What are these like? I've been casually looking at them, but can't find any reviews.
Maybe if you need to fill a large room have a look at the Marantz SR5009, it's the previous years model, still available, just check out if the features fill your requirements. If your room is 300sqft or less, the 1606 is perfectWhats a better option (if size isn't an issue) for around the £4-500 mark then?

Really interesting, I saw no difference except dual band wifi and DSD 5.8MHz support. Looks like NR1606 is with improved screen graphics too. Maybe there are internal modifications for future firmware upgrades and speed improvement.Looks like dual band WIFI and improved on screen graphics?
Exactly! These powerful AV receivers are so huge that I'm thinking NR1606/7+PM8005 would be the way to go...I think most people will appreciate that this amp is a compromise given the dimensions. I had a strict height budget and this suits perfectly. I might add a small (digital?) power amp at some point if I still feel wanting for power. I could stash a small unit in a cupboard next to the amp.
Yeah, that's what I mean. The NR1606 does not do that on UHD signal.Do you mean on screen volume bar? No problems here with UHD signal.
Yes it does! You may need to reset your NR1606.Yeah, that's what I mean. The NR1606 does not do that on UHD signal.
