Marantz amp + speakers? Or something else.....

Blimey you sound like you have lived my life, I have hearing issues in one ear, but I went ahead & re-started building a system again, Marantz pm & cd 6007, rega planar 3 & B&W 607 s2 silver anniversaries. It sounds great, I think your brain adapts plus you turn your speakers in & I get the whole experience, not saying it sounds like it probably should to me but I get great separation & hear great individual instruments, to top it off the wife walked in at first demo & said Wow that sounds detailed, I laughed because that's just not her. Anyway I feel like I am getting great music & separation maybe due to toeing in perfectly. I have been reborn as I bought my first system in 1978 which was technics.Don't give up you can still enjoy music. Why do you think I call myself the deaf audiophile ? because I wouldn't give up my music & kept persevering.

That’s a great post Deaf Audiophile, thanks for taking the time to construct it, give your thoughts and put up the images of your system, it looks great!

I kept things really simple in the end. Got a Yamaha A-S501 amp which has more than enough clout, an iFi Zen Signature DAC and some B&W 707 speakers with B&W stands. Sounds great to my good ear!

Happy listening all 👍
