Has anyone had a chance to compare these too and if so are there any major differences?

Not in the flesh, no. But on paper in terms of functionality the 6011 is pretty well out in front. Significantly more flexibility in terms of Atmos options (up to 5.1.4/7.1.2 out of the box, 7.1.4 if you add a stereo amp). The Marantz also supports the Audyssey app for additional tweakage. Plus, I think the Marantz looks better :)

The two are considerably different in respects to the number of integrated amplified channels they have and the number of potential channels they can process. The DEnon receiver is a 7 channel AV receiver with no option to expand upon this while the Marantz receiver is a 9 channel AVR with the potential to expand this to 11 channels by adding 2 additional external channels of amplification. The X3300 is limited to no more than 7.1 or 5.2 while the SR6011 can accomodate you with a 5.1.4, 7.1.2 setup out of the box or even a 7.1.4 Atmos setup if you add 2 channels of external amplification.

The Marantz receiver also incorporates HDAM circuitry that you'd not get onboard a Denon receiver.

Both the SR and AV Marantz lines contain the Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module or HDAM that can function in several capacities and are a key feature that separates Marantz from its competitors. Marantz developed its own discrete circuit boards to replace standard IC's. These HDAM's consists of discrete surface mount components with short mirror image L/R signal paths. Those devices are doing exactly the same thing as the Op-Amps, but outperform the regular IC Op-amps dramatically in terms of the Slew Rate and reduced noise level, resulting in a much more dynamic, accurate and detailed sound. Over the years Marantz developed different types of the HDAM to improve quality and to fit to the special requirements of a product category like CD or amplifier.

What does all this technical jargon mean to you? It means that your Marantz product will reproduce your music and movie soundtracks as close to what the musicians and sound mixers intended, through an open and clear sound stage. The sound will fill the room, your speakers will disappear, and you will be fully immersed in the song or movie soundtrack!

Also note that the Denon's second HDMI output cannot be used to mirror the main output and is a dedicated second HDMI zone output. The Marantz on the other hand include 3 outputs, two of which are mirrored and the third being a dedicated second HDMI zone output.

The only real downside to the Marantz is its porthole display. The porthole doesn't allow it to convey as much information as you'd get via a receiver with a full sized display. You'd need the model above the SR6011 to get this larger display which would be concealed behind a drop down panel on the receiver's front panel.
