After much confusion and faffing had decided to get the 7010 to use as a processor ( mainly to obtain dolby atmos et al ) when I thought maybe the 6010 could do the job just as well.If is it just the power and number of channels that are reduced, as I might only use the internal amps for heights and rears.
Any other suggestions welcome, still can't quite pull the flippin trigger.

I have been using a 6010 for the last year or so as a processor, with an external Arcam P7 power amp running most of the channels. The 6010 is limited to 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 whereas (with extra power amps) the 7010 can also be configured up to 7.1.4. Otherwise the 7010 has better DACs (though whether you'd notice is another matter) and since I was limited to 5.1.4 anyway I didn't see the point paying quite a lot more (last December) for the 7010.

Mine is going at the weekend though as I'm upgrading to an Arcam AVR390 plus the P7 as I want to do away with having a separate Dirac unit and so I can Dirac all the channels including Atmos.
