I bought a Denon 1802 gold from Richer sounds 10 days ago. I was very happy with it, (upgraded from a NAD 706 which I had for 6 years). Within a day of using it my son decided he wanted one for his bedroom, as his Sherwood was looking dated and although it had DD it didn't have DTS or optical inputs for his PS 2. We tried everywhere to get one without any luck.
I decided to look for something else, and after reading a dozen or so reviews on the Marantz 5200, I decided it was the one for me. I phoned a local dealer on Sat morning he had one 5200 gold left. I went straight to the shop and bought it, and sold my 1802 to my son.
The Marantz sounds great, much more musical than the 1802. cinema sound is improved also. The only thing I have against the Marantz is it's an ugly looking thing. Even my old NAD (plain grey) was better looking.
