Does anyone know if the Marantz 4100 OSE employs Macrovision? If so, any recommendations for getting rid of it?

    Thanks,

    Rich

I understand it's based on a Philips player as is the Yamaha S510/520 that I have - as such you can ugrade the firmware using a CDR. One of the earlier firmwares has been hacked to remove macrovision

    http://philips.ianc.net/ has more info

Your milage may vary, dvd players can go down as well as up yada yada

It was OK last night so try again later

BTW i've not got round to doing the upgrade yet, but the forums do have a number of success stories

failing that I did download some of the firmwares so if it doesn't come back...
