    hi there i have seen a item i need on maplins website but the question is are the shops open to the public like woolworths and that

    Yes you can walk into maplins and look around and buy stuff. They usualy let you take stuff back if you wanted to try something but best of to ask in your local store if thats what you want to do.

    Also, if you're in a hurry, take note of the maplin code for the item from the website, walk into the store and say you need XXXXXX and (assuming the person you're talking to has gone through the training) they'll take you straight to it, nice and efficient. Apart from that, they're a normal high street store... browse, mess with stuff, buy stuff, chat up the fit student girl behind the counter...

    I'd phone the shop first, many shops have far more in their catalog than in store ready to pick up. Make sure they have what you want before making a journey.
