I agree that Maplin have some good stuff - I've been a customer for 30 years. But I've had a couple of cheap CD/MP3 players from them, neither of which have been wholly satisfactory. The first was dodgey on CD/RWs and eventually on occasional CD/Rs too - they gave me a full refund. The second has rather poor audio output in terms of level and distortion, and hasn't got the processing power it needs for the equaliser functions while playing MP3s. (My daughter has a third model of CD/MP3 player from them, which seems ok. Or was, until she dropped it a few times too often.)

Hopefully, the Bluetooth would either work or it wouldn't, though I'd have more confidence if it's Bluetooth 1.2 - the spec doesn't specify. Worth posing the question.

In summary, fantastic value - can't go far wrong for a 2nd car, and if it didn't work or went wrong within 12 months, Maplin should give you a refund.

Dont know exact prices but I would rather buy a £70 panasonic cd with an ebay (brand new) bluetooth kit(bought a nokia for £62 delivered)

Buy Cheap,Buy twice...

Well for those that are interested I've bought it and I have to say I am pleased with it. Plays MP3's on cdr and cd-rw with no probs. Sound while its not going to be as good as some it doesnt sound bad at all the, the wife will not tell the difference anyway. Put it this way I've taken out a Pioneer and it sounds better than that. The blue tooth works very well. It paired up with my Motorola and Sony 610 with no probs. The only minor complaints the built in mic is a little quite but this could be down to positioning. There is a jack, see photos for putting in another mic so might give this a go. The only other grip is they give you nothing to mount the mic, sticky pad did the job though.

yeah man they look alright. if the mic is a bit cack though maybe try a better one or try and position it more in the line of your voice as you drive (so maybe on the dash near the steering wheel ?)
