My trusty old laptop has stopped charging seems like the power board thingy inside the case is blown, repair place say its not worth replacing for the price of it so i am going to put a claim in on the insurance for a new one

....however being the thrifty devious fellow i am, i was wondering if its feasible to manually charge the laptop batteries, would it be as simple as figuring out what the correct positive and negative terminals are, and hooking 19v into it? or is that just going to blow the thing up? it is this battery by the way http://shop.battery.co.uk/cgi-bin/ic/battery/PD942.html would be interested to here from anyone with more understanding or any tips!
