Seen a few posts with reference to tuning manually, rather than just for Freesat.
Do you lose any functionality by doing this and does it open the window to any more HD channels in English?

p.s. Box hasn't arrived yet so I am planning ahead.

    Thanks

From what i know you will lose the Freesat EPG. The only HD channels are BBC and ITV HD, plus Luxe HD.

The box has two modes, Freesat and non-Freesat, which you can switch between at will. In Freesat mode you get the full Freesat 8-day EPG, fully functional series link recordings, and not many channels. In non-Freesat mode, you can find hundreds of extra channels, but with only now-and-next, so recordings don't work. Also, when in non-Freesat mode, the box will tell you to switch back to Freesat mode when you have recordings scheduled - it can't do both at the same time. When you get the box, scan for non-Freesat channels and arrange them how you like before you set any recordings in Freesat mode, or you'll lose your schedule.
