mantelpiece STAND/ MOUNT for an LG 50PA650T

I want to mount my new plasma over the fireplace but i would also like it to rest on the mantelpiece for extra support.

I am obviously unable to find a stand that will fix to the bottom that would have the required depth of 6 inches.
Are there stands for smaller lg TV's that would not be fit to us as stand on its own but that would fit on to the bottom of my TV to ad support

im worried because i do not own the house and do not 100% trust the brick work

I have quite happily fitted a 32" plasma to plasterboard with 8 toggle fixings so the brickwork will be fine. If you can tighten the bolts/screw that you use then they have gripped properly, with 8 fixings you should be able to swing from the bracket!
