so what are your insulation plans, how high is ur ceiling? . Also ru planing to do any soft fits on side?

Ceiling height will be dictated by floor height ive got lots to play with so will probably be able to have split level floor so the rear seating will be 6-8" raised.
Essentially we will be able to step down into the room. I think about 3"
Till i get roof on i wont know exactly
Roof going on tomorrow!

Roof on
Door done
Electrics started

Window being fitted Thursday. No Glass, black panel. Will post a pic when it's in.

Then it's trimming down my current 254cm wide screen to fit the 231cm I'm going to have.
So a DIY screen made from a Saphire ÂŁ320 fixed frame screen. Ouch. Unless someone is near Norwich and wants to buy it cheap and I can then put that towards a made to fit screen from a reputable place.

Then get the projector up and throwing an image so I can decide where the best seating will be so I can then workout where to raise the floor for the rear seating.
Not much going to happen then as got garden to do for wifey while weather is good.!
.

Window done
White out
Black in (handle is black just covered)
No glass, black infill. Very pleased how it looks. Fitter said he had never had anyone do that before :)
Outside will be a combination of weather board and rendering. Or may go for some slit face tiles below the window. Not sure yet.
Cable surround hanging down on the outside pic is to power the air con unit going on the roof.
Managed to get a 2nd hand one and my m8 should be fitting it in he next few weeks.

Throwing up the wall the screen will go on and just had to get the projector up to get an image. (Earthwool acoustic insulation)
Going to have the screen 35" from floor.
Should be about 104" diagonal screen with no border. Will probably have a small border though of about 1"
Decided to put the front of the seating 90" from the screen so eyes will be 106" from screen (just over double the screen height)
This gives me a bit more room at the back for extra seats and other gear.
Devore fabric ordered.
Might get the ceiling speakers up now i know where the seating will go.

Internal size after insulation and boarding
2.32 x 4.4
Height 2.44
Will raise the floor at the back to give me a height of 2.3

Is your garage wall a single skin wall by chance? I was wondering how to insulate and board it out with out without causing issues

2 end walls are single
1 side wall is on the house the other has my other garage next to it.
There are a lot of differing opinions of how to do it but I went with what the architect and building control told me to do.

Started to dismantle and re erect my Sapphire screen
Still gutted it was too big but so far so good

My son who was helping me today said "Wouldn't it be easier to buy a 90" TV"

Grrrrrr

Would be nice to cut and refit the frame rather than dump it.
If i do that though my screen size will go from 102" to about 99"
You can see in the photo the Devour is blacker than the screen surround.
What would you do?

I think I would cut and refit, 3" loss in the grand scheme of things isn't bad at all ( i say this to my wife quite often [emoji12]) lol

Well stretching the screen went well.
Got some angled aluminum
Used one sides built in rod as a firm point and the other end was pulled and screwed.
Top and bottom was pulled over my oversized battens also using the built in rods.

Currently cutting the old aluminum frame to get the width right and using epoxy gorilla glue to reinforce it back together.
I'm going to leave the height for now. It will be to high for 16:9 but it saves me cutting more and gluing more..
Once its all done i can always tweak.

Made good progress tonight on cutting the surround.
Used Gorilla Glue initially and then realized i could just screw in the left over of the angled aluminum.
Didn't have the right length screws so adapted so i could get it done tonight.
Well chuffed with the end result.
You can see in the photo how much i had to shorten it by.

More chopping of the frame to get it flush to the screen.
Then realized i could use the material from the cut outs to patch the joins :)
Joins look good from normal seating position so job done.
Frame was tight at the top as my walls are not equal so out came the hammer and it interference fits nicely.

and my 1st Devour panel up next to it.
My panels are going in length ways and staggered so the joins are not in one line.
I doubt the joins will show but its got to be done that way anyway.

Front and rear speaker wires just about in.
5.1.4 setup.

Next its to get the Rockwool up all round.
Then start fixing Dovour panels in.
Electrician coming next week i hope so i can get the main lights up around the outside.
Once there up i can decide on how large/small the floating ceiling will be.
Still need to purchase in ceiling speakers but have no idea what im getting yet.
