There should be no problem running MAME on a projector as virtually all projectors will take a signal from a computer.

The only problem I can see is that most of the stuff MAME emulates was designed a long time ago for very small monitors. I would imagine the old arcade games are going to look VERY blocky when blown up to 8ft in size!

    Cheers

Yes I am aware of this, but I would like to see a couple of shots of say Street Fighter II (which is a wide aspect) on an 8ft screen, or maybe Zelda: OOT for the N64 in high-res.

I think you'll probably be the first to have these pictures!

To be honest I'm not a big fan of screenshots of PJs in action.

What do they really show? If you take a picture of something 8ft and reduce it to a few inches for display on the computer it is almost always going to look good as the size reduction will hide many defects.

In the same way a standard TV signal looks great on a 21" TV, but blow it up to 8ft and without some clever technology it looks crap.

    Cheers
    Marc

If you do a search on "MAME AE300" you get one result from Jimbobuk, click on his screenshots link there are a couple of MAME shots on there (Star Wars etc).
